Concrete Cutting & Coring

Concrete cutting is the sawing, drilling and removal of concrete.  Core Drilling is the process of drilling perfectly round holes through concrete walls and floors.

Our saw blades are infused with black industrial diamonds. The sawing process is performed by our skilled personnel who use highly specialized equipment.  Our staff have the skill and experience to cut perfectly smooth plumb and level openings. Unlike jack hammering, all our cutting is performed with a water fed to the saw blade so there is virtually no dust.  We hang tarps and our saws have water fins, so the water spray falls to the floor. We prevent messes, vacuum our concrete slurry and clean up after our work.

There are basically two types of concrete cutting.  Sawing walls is referred to as “wall sawing” and sawng slabs is referred to as “flat sawing.”  We have many different types of saws for each of these two types.

We perform wall sawing to cut door and windows concrete walls or to lowering a foundation elevation or remove a wall in part or whole.  Building an addition on a home which already has a basement normally involves cutting the existing concrete foundation to allow for passage between the new and existing basement. It is less expensive and easier to perform this service while the foundation addition is being constructed and not after the wooden structure has been built.

We perform flat sawing with a variety of different saws.  We use large walk-behind saws to cut warehouse slabs. We prefer to use diesel saws for these spaces.  These saws have high horsepower to perform the project as fast as possible but are also equipped with the newest and most advanced tier-4 engine emission and exhaust scrubbers.  When operating diesel indoors, we also monitor air quality with CO detectors which digitally read-out the parts per million. For small indoor spaces, we use hydraulic-powered push-style flat saws.  These saws are much more versatile that large saw and they allow us to cut faster and straighter than we can with a hand saw.

Core Drilling is the process of drilling perfectly round holes through concrete walls and floors. We can core any diameter hole from ¾” diameter to 36” diameter.  Core holes are required for utility penetrations such as electrical, plumbing and heating. Our coring equipment is basically a larger version of a drill press. The drill base is mechanically anchored to a wall or can be vacuum suctioned to a smooth concrete floor.
